Pat is currently CEO & Founder of the Velocity BioGroup, a biopharmaceutical & technology design, development and divestiture company, headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pat is a former executive in one of the world’s top three big pharma companies, having led a $3.5 billion business unit covering the lives of government-sponsored health programs. These include Medicare, Medicaid, the Department of Defense, the Veteran’s Health Administration, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and Indian Health Services – many of the country’s largest payers. The Velocity BioGroup’s current projects include the global divestiture of one of the leading compounds in substance use disorder, plus multiple early to late phase development and marketplace projects in oncology, orphan diseases, nicotine addiction, traumatic brain injury, and insomnia.
Pat has developed a unique new approach to technology assessment and development through an advanced software analytics and decision making tool. This approach to innovation is intended to jump start the ‘valley of death’ that is currently stale mating American innovation financing and discovery. By path finding the way between competitive and collaborative mindsets (the orange versus green worldviews), Pat hopes to tangibly demonstrate how the integration of multistakeholder values into the hard science metrics of innovation attributes is the only way forward in building innovation worth in the emerging global economy.
Pat also works in Washington DC on pro bono strategies related to veterans’ causes, particularly around the psychological impacts of war.
